Miretti Group began circulating the hashtag #SafetyFirst! on its website and on the online platforms – such as LinkedIn and Twitter – in conjunction with the current health emergency, which has proved to be one of the most difficult historical periods for both the Italian system and throughout the entire world.

Even during these difficult time, Miretti Group tried to remain operative. Miretti chose to operate an even greater sense of responsibility to continue to be a reliable partner in explosion-proof protections and fumes purification devices, in order to be beside its customers. “We are suppliers of explosion-proof protections for Companies that continued to be active, even during the early stages since the epidemic lockdown of the epidemic: pharmaceutical, chemical companies, health sector, plastic processing companies, food and beverage sector, etc. … all companies that have been considered essential and strategic. This is one of the reasons why we felt obliged to continue working in the best possible way, always respecting the new limits imposed for the safety of our employees, customers and suppliers” – declares Angelo Miretti, CEO of the Group with his sister Simona. In Mr Miretti’s words we can find the meaning of the term “Resilience”, a word that is increasingly acquiring a deep value of resistance, adaptation to change and desire to start again with a positive and pro-active spirit.

But what does “resilience” actually mean? The reorganization of production and after-sales service, the networking done with the commercial managers from the overseas branches together with the smart working mode allowed the Miretti Group to keep on supporting its customers despite the difficulties. The physical proximity has been replaced by a virtual one, strengthening the already existent network between the various commercial and production sites. This added value is strategic for a company like Miretti, responsible for Ex protections not only in Italy but on a worldwide scale, according to the regulations for “hazardous areas”.

Moreover, the Group decided to keep its customers updated through social media channels by informing them about new explosion-proof conversion projects recently completed. We chose, therefore, to make the positive results achieved by the Group speak together with the many companies with whom we have been working for years. In addition to the historical brands of trucks of which Miretti is an approved ATEX supplier eg. Still, Toyota, BYD, Hyster and Yale, in Miretti’s plants the employees work on trucks from numerous other brands such as Crown, UniCarriers, Heli, Hyundai, Carer, Ulma, to mention just a few; and others where the collaboration is always active eg. Jungheinrich, Clark, Linde, BT, Manitou, Caterpillar, Doosan, Mitsubishi etc.

The above is also supplemented with several ATEX earthmoving machines (of different brands including Atlas Copco, Hitachi, Volvo, Liebherr, Caterpillar) that, once Ex converted, are destined for the large construction sites and the so called Government’s strategic infrastructures.

The result of the constant focus on new technologies and innovative solutions is the work that the Miretti team is carrying out on the explosion-proof protections of forklifts with lithium technology. After the first ATEX Ex conversion in the world (2018) on a Li-on truck, the commitment of Miretti engineers and technicians on this specific front is continuing today with the aim of increasing and consolidating its know-how to make ATEX conversions available on Li-on run vehicles that also prove to be efficient in terms of energy and emissions.

In this overview of positive results, worthy of mention is also the explosion-proof conversion project on LPG trucks which involved various Yale models. Even this is the first ATEX Ex conversion in the world on this particular type of truck. It is the result of both the exchange of data between the Group branches and the work carried out by Miretti Group R & D Department. The work carried out on lithium technology, LPG and Hybrid trucks, represents an important goal for the ATEX world, and at the same time contributes to increasing the opportunities of End Users who are able to choose between different types of supply (diesel, electric, hybrid, LPG, lithium battery) in hazardous areas.

Not only trucks and earthmoving machines, ATEX conversions have also affected those machines more commonly known as “utility vehicles”; these are increasingly being used for intensive industrial use as well as tackling critical terrains. Explosion-proof protections carried out on special tow tractors and electric vehicles intended for lifting and handling materials need to be considered. Last but not least when the sanitation of environments is of primary importance, we are in a position to supply kits for industrial scrubbers intended for use in hazardous areas.

These are just some examples of ATEX protected vehicles that make up the fleet of machines affected by explosion-proof processes. All these four handed job projects conducted by the technical and ATEX certification departments, capable of defining the most suitable, compact and effective solution.

Attention to safety does not stop. #SafetyFirst! Always and everywhere. Today more than ever
