the “active” core of Zone 2 Ex-Proof Conversions
The DetEx System is an “active” protection that we can apply for the Category 3 ex-proof conversion of any type of diesel or electric equipment.
It combines gas detection with various explosion protection methods, including: restricted breathing enclosures for arcing and sparking components, surface temperature and relevant truck parameter control with dedicated stop system, stainless steel sheathed forks.
This system keeps the operator constantly informed about the presence in the operating area of dangerous explosive gasses or vapours.
The system provides an audible and visual warning when it detects the presence of a gas or vapour at 10% Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) propane in air. When at 25% LEL, the protected equipment automatically shuts down, thus eliminating any kind of explosion risk.
Miretti DetEx carries out an automatic self-test at start up and periodic auto calibrations to ensure the gas sensor is fully operative.
The stand by mode minimizes the battery consumption guaranteeing a constant gas detection.
Furthermore, the system receives all the signals coming from temperature, oil pressure, speed sensors, stopping the truck in case of any safety risk, clearly indicating the source of anomaly and recording the event in the log, easily accessible later.

CoatEx
CoatEx provides a thermal barrier between hot engine surfaces (e.g. turbochargers and exhaust manifolds) and the external atmosphere.
CoatEx enables the OEM “dry” turbocharger and manifold to be retained reducing Zone 1 and 2 conversion costs and minimising risk of failure by fitting non OEM turbo and water cooled manifold.
FilterEx TruckCooler
A ‘compact’ exhaust cooling system with integral self-cleaning exhaust flame arrestor.
Miretti has developed a compact heat exchanger suitable for diesel forklift trucks with powers between 30 and 60kW.
Enables maximum engine ‘uptime’ as the self-cleaning flame arrestor can operate for approx. 1000 hours before requiring cleaning.
Reduces costly service maintenance against option of conventional exhaust flame arrestors that need to be changed every 20 hours.

Miretti explosion proof conversions are designed not to have an impact on the functionality and compliance standards of the original equipment.
Any potential source of ignition (eg. electrical, electrostatic, mechanical, and other) is removed by the explosion protection procedures in order to get a full ATEX industrial vehicle.
Our conversions do not alter the operation of the OEM unit nor do we compromise the footprint of the unit.
